A Mango Matcha Latte is the perfect balance of tropical sweetness and earthy richness. The golden mango purée blends beautifully with vibrant green matcha for a drink that’s as refreshing as it is energizing. Best of all, it’s easy to make at home.
Step 1: Make the Mango Purée
Ingredients (yields ~600g):
- 500g mango (ripe fresh or frozen, thawed)
- 100g sugar
- A small pinch of salt
- 1–2 tsp fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
- Add the diced mango and sugar to a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mango softens.
- Stir in a pinch of salt and a splash of lemon juice to brighten the flavor.
- Remove from heat, let it cool slightly, then blend until smooth.
- Store in a clean jar in the fridge for up to one week.
✨ Both ripe fresh mango and frozen mango work well for this purée. Fresh mango gives the brightest flavor, while frozen mango makes it quick and convenient.
Step 2: Build Your Mango Matcha Latte
You’ll Need:
- 2 tbsp mango purée (from above)
- 1 tsp ceremonial-grade matcha powder
- 2 oz hot water (about 175°F / 80°C)
- 6–8 oz milk of your choice (oat, almond, soy, or dairy)
- Ice cubes
Instructions:
- Whisk the Matcha – Sift matcha into a bowl, add hot water, and whisk until smooth and lightly frothy.
- Prepare the Glass – Add mango purée to the bottom of a tall glass. Fill with ice and pour in your milk.
- Top with Matcha – Slowly pour the whisked matcha over the mango-milk mixture for a beautiful layered effect.
- Stir & Enjoy – Swirl gently to combine before sipping.
✨ Result: A tropical, refreshing latte that’s visually stunning and deliciously energizing.
